Conclusion:
The Marcos Regime could have bested Diosdado Macapagal with an average annual growth rate of 5.49% from 1966-1980 and thereby maintain the growth momentum and with only 53% debt to GDP ratio (17B in debt and 32.5B in GDP) which is comparable to the debt-gdp ratio of the Philippines in the Arroyo Administration in 2006 during which the Philippines has already broke free of its economic decline/stagnation from the 80s. But due to the unfortunate events in the early 80s, it would prove to be the most devastating 6 yrs for the Philippines that would take 18-20 yrs for the Philippines to start to recover in the early 2000s under Arroyo administration during which average GDP finally increased by 2% from the a low of 2.67% during the Estrada Administration. But even if the economic stagnation of the marcos regime in the early 80s, average GDP during his term still bested those administrations that preceded him except when Arroyo took over in early 2000s.
